If one can say a topic like this can have humor and still be like a knife in the gut, then so be it. Sasha Petrova has a way of weaving a true life story to capture the heart and soul of this type of abuse, but coming out of the dark tunnel to light and with a wicked sense of humor. How she can be the strong and solid walk-on-earth type of person she is, creates a large arena for question. Read the book; you don't have to have the same experience, you can be a man or a woman, a girl or a grandmother; there is a place for all of us in this story. Great first effort and I know we will see many more.
I had the good fortune to do the line editing on this amazing and yet gut wrenching novel by Sasha Petrova. Her strength and ability to put the reader in her shoes is astounding. I guess she had to be one tough cookie to survive what she experienced most of her life. I am as proud of her as if she were my own. She is a victim no more.
No one will be sorry for picking up and reading this terrific autobiographical book. It has something for everyone, whether a victim, school teacher, counselor, or therapist. Most of all, this is a must for anyone who has ever wondered about the reality of a survivor's life.
I highly recommend this book to one and all.

It is beautifully written, filled with passion and resolve.
I couldn't put it down until I had reached the very last page.
I enjoyed reading this book because I found it entirely absorbing. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Although the story is a heartfelt account of abuse and personal trauma, it is easy to understand, flows well, the writing is tight, and chapters are short. I particularly enjoyed the ending.
This is a most heart stoping account of the most horrific thing I feel can ever happen to a little child,but it also shows the
absolute true raw strength of the author as well....I truly recommend this book to anyone who has ever experienced rape

I ordered several books at the same time. Chose this to read first. It was a page turner. Only two nights to read it. You will be amazed at the bravery of this little girl and then woman to face her demons of the past and 'stick to her guns' not allowing her siblings or others to treat her like a second rate citizen. This too takes courage. Simply a must read you will never forget.
Meeting the Author in Mazatlan was my introduction to A Leaf On The Wind - curiosity lead me to download her book on my . I was blown away by the brutal honesty Sasha shares exposing herself to readers. Her story is heartbreaking and real. I found myself wondering how a person could go through a life like this and come out the other end in one piece. I couldn't put the book down - If I didn't know better, I would have thought this book was totally based on a fictional life of a person on a runaway roller coaster. If you have suffered abuse, Sasha may share insights to help you get through it, if you haven't suffered abuse you will be truly grateful for your own life.
